Training to Serve Incarcerated Individuals at Rikers Island

About this Opportunity
Join Prison Fellowship for an orientation, training, and prayer event to serve the men of Rikers Island - one of the most notorious jails in the country.

Prospective and current male volunteers are welcome to attend to learn more about the ministry of Prison Fellowship and their powerful programs at Rikers that offer hope and transformation to those who are incarcerated.

Volunteers can serve as a reentry life coach and provide one-on-one life coaching sessions to a program participant prior to their release. Volunteers can also serve as weekly facilitators for classes with participants of the Rikers Island EMTC Academy program.

Program will run for 16 weeks on Monday evenings starting February 4th. All volunteers would need to be able to get to Rikers by 5:15pm for security clearance. The sessions are from 6pm to 8pm.

Currently, we are recruiting for only male volunteers for this role. All volunteers must complete an application in order to serve with Prison Fellowship. You are welcome to attend the training first, then decide if you'd like to move forward with completing a volunteer application.
