Send Hand-Made Cards to Elderly Neighbors

About this Opportunity

Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nutritious food and human company to homebound elderly New Yorkers in need, helping them to live with dignity in their own familiar homes and communities.

The majority of our meal recipients live alone, and many rarely or never leave their homes. Remind your homebound older neighbors they haven't been forgotten. Showing you care can be as simple as making a thoughtful card or writing a friendly letter.

Volunteers create hand-made cards and mail them to the address provided.

  • Citymeals accepts cards for all holidays, traditional (Passover and Easter are coming up) and nontraditional (Grandparents Day is on September 10th).
  • We also accept birthday, greeting, seasonal, and get well cards.
  • So no matter the time of year, we welcome you to get creative and send us your beautiful handmade cards.

Process: Click "request information," and find the instructions for this volunteer opportunity in your confirmation email.
