Mont Lawn City Camp is The Bowery Mission's program for children and youth living under the poverty line in New York City. Opportunities for enrichment and mentoring can play a critical role in helping children thrive in school and life. Quality programs support children's social and emotional development, helping them grow into adults who are healthy, grounded, and economically self-sufficient.
Mont Lawn City Camp will celebrate Christmas with His Toy Store on Tuesday, December 12 from 11am - 3pm and on Wednesday, December 13 from 3pm - 7pm at our South Bronx location.
- Parents and guardians of program participants will have an opportunity to select age-appropriate toys and gifts for their children, as well as non-toy gifts such as coats, hats, scarves, and gloves, to ensure families have crucial needs met during the holiday season - particularly migrant families we have begun serving.
- Families will also have the chance to have their gifts wrapped in festive paper, and enjoy holiday treats like cookies, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Volunteers are needed to assist with:
- Checking in registered guests and providing them with gift tickets corresponding to the ages of their children
- Assisting guests with gift selection and stocking gift stations with age-appropriate items
- Serving cookies, hot chocolate, and coffee
- Wrapping gifts
Volunteers can sign up for one or multiple shifts.
