Provide Academic Support or Squash Sessions to Youth in Harlem

StreetSquash’s mission is to provide consistent, long-term, and reliable support to the children, families, and schools in Harlem. By exposing students to a broad range of experiences and by maintaining the highest standards, StreetSquash helps all participants realize their academic, athletic, and personal potential.

Volunteers are needed in the following roles:

In-Person Tutoring/Academic Support

With guidance from our Academic team, provide support to students either individually or in small groups to close learning gaps in specific subject areas. Available tutoring sessions:

  • Mondays,Tuesdays, and Fridays
    • 3pm-4pm
    • 4pm-5pm
    • 5pm-6pm
  • Wednesdays and Thursdays
    • 3pm-4pm
    • 5pm-6pm

VIRTUAL Tutoring: Same as above, but in a virtual capacity via scheduled Zoom sessions. Virtual tutoring is scheduled as needed, pending availability of the tutee.

In-person Squash: Assist the Squash Department in conducting squash practice sessions and any other tasks in the squash court area. Must have a history with Squash (club or professional) and/or possess basic Squash skills. Available Squash sessions

  • Monday through Friday
    • 4pm-5pm
    • 5pm-6pm
  • Saturdays
    • 10am-11:30am
    • 11:30am-1pm

Commitment: The general time commitment is at least one day per week.

Process: All volunteers must consent to a background check. All in-person volunteers must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
