A critical aspect of our model is capacity building, which focuses on equipping and strengthening our affiliates through in-house training sessions and workshops, plus specific capacity building grants that provide additional training.

This past year, our affiliates have faced many changes, including some updates to organization names! Here are the reasons why three affiliates refreshed their names.

As we reflect on this past fiscal year (July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021), it's clear how much we reimagined our work (from events to campaigns to programs) alongside our affiliate partners.

To show solidarity in celebrating #AAPI heritage and raising awareness around #stopasianhate, Thrive Collective supported the creation of a new mural, Spread Love: Stop Asian Hate by Bianca Romero.

​​​​At our Virtual Spring Benefit on Thursday, June 17, we celebrated the creative reimagining that HFNY has encouraged and fostered in our network this year!

Earlier this month, we held our fourth annual HFNY Pitch Night! Pitch Night is one of our favorite events because it brings a core group of our network together to celebrate the big initiatives that HFNY affiliate partners are planning for the year.

Grantmaking is one of the four cornerstones of our model (which also includes volunteer mobilization, capacity building, and collaborative networks). Every June, we give Direct grants to many of our affiliates so they can plan their programs for the coming year.

This year, we launched a few fitness and fundraising program called the Miles of Hope Challenge! Starting in March, our network was encouraged to run, bike, walk, etc., between affiliate sites across our city!

Our first Virtual Homelessness Summit was an impactful day focused on the challenges our homeless neighbors face daily. More than 300 attendees tuned into the online Rescue Alliance event on a Saturday morning to be educated, equipped, and engaged! 

Earlier this month, we reintroduced our Young Supporters Community (formerly Young Supporters Committee), an expanded network of young professionals who are passionate about mercy and justice in NYC.
