Mentor Children with Disabilities

About this Opportunity

Center for All Abilities seeks to serve individuals with special needs and their families through creative, educational and spiritual enrichment in a faith-guided environment. Their vision is for people with special needs and their families to realize and live out their full potential in God through supportive services.

The Walk With U Mentoring Program provides guidance and care to children and youth of all abilities through Bible-led and virtue-based teachings by hosting topical discussions, social activities, group outings, volunteer opportunities, cultural immersion, and one-on-one mentorship.

Mentors are volunteers who are at least 21-years-old and profess a Christian faith. Mentors are paired 1:1 with program participants and embark on year-long projects (from art to science, and beyond!) with their mentees. Mentors participate in the program on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.

Buddies are volunteers who are at least 14-years-old. Buddies pair 1:1 with program participants, providing support and encouragement during large and small group activities on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.

Frequency and length of commitment: Bi-monthly on Saturdays, 12:15 - 2:45pm, from October 2023 to June 2024.

Volunteer training: Saturday, September 30, 2023, 10AM - 12PM.
