Support a welcoming and empowering learning environment for adult immigrant students gaining basic computer skills. Volunteers assist the lead teacher and help students feel confident using technology.
Key Responsibilities:
-Greet students, take attendance, and help set up computers before class.
-Assist students with logging in, typing practice, creating email accounts, and using Word or Google Docs.
-Circulate during class to offer one-on-one support and encouragement.
-Help collect and put away computers, clean up, and reset the classroom after each session.
-Follow all SACC policies and dress code standards.
Qualifications:
-Friendly, patient, and encouraging attitude.
-Basic computer literacy (email, typing, Word or Google Docs).
-Dependable and able to work collaboratively with the lead instructor.
-Experience working with adult learners or English language learners is helpful but not required.
Time Commitment:
-Once a week for 1.5 hours.
A minimum commitment of at least one semester (Sept–Dec, Jan–May, or June–July) is preferred.
