New Life CDC provides relief, cultivates restoration and models reinvestment among the poor and marginalized in Central Queens as a demonstration of God’s love.
New Life CDC's Food Pantry serves 40+ families a week in Elmhurst and Corona and is one of the only food pantries in the area that does deliveries. We currently have a waitlist for our services and will only be able to serve more clients if we get more volunteer drivers.
We are looking for volunteers who have a car and are able to commit to doing deliveries at least once a month.
- We also ask all drivers to shadow one of our current drivers before doing a route.
- We can also help match drivers with volunteer passengers who can help with navigation and grocery drop off if that helps.
How it works:
- When: Deliveries take place every Saturday (except holidays) from 10am-12pm
- Pick up: Volunteer drivers pick up grocery bags & routes from NLF building (back parking lot) at 10am.
- Amount: Volunteer drivers make about 10 deliveries per trip, it may reach 12 at some point but this is not the norm. All deliveries are within Elmhurst and Corona.
- Frequency: The frequency is up to you but we highly suggest 1-2x a month to help us sustain the amount of families we can support on a weekly basis.
Process: Once you request information, we will send you the link for our volunteer interest form and share onboarding information for new volunteer drivers!
