Dream Center NYC

Serve Harlem at Food Pantry

About this Opportunity
The New York Dream Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to serve New Yorkers right where they are to where they dream to be. Their goal is to meet the needs of underserved communities through neighborhood programs of Community Market, Residential Assistance, and Restore.

Friday Community Market is the Dream Center NYC's program designed to serve individuals in Harlem who live in public housing. This weekly program allows families to receive much needed household goods while showing them respect and maintaining their dignity. Creating this fun atmosphere gives space for relationships to build, humanity to thrive, and lifeless handouts to be a thing of the past.

Volunteers will distribute donated goods to community attendees, and sit and speak or pray with members of the Kings community in Harlem during the outreach. Short orientation provided day-of.

Volunteer opportunities are for individuals of all ages. All individuals under 16 should have a parent or guardian present.
