Teach Dance, Drama, or Music Classes to Kids

About this Opportunity
Are you a dancer, actor, or a musician? At The Salvation Army's Times Square location, volunteer teachers lead dance, drama, and music classes for children and youth (ages 3 to 15 years old). Volunteers commit to teaching once a week on Wednesdays in their focus areas of dance, theatre, or music and can teach classes such as ballet, creative movement, hip-hop, tap, jazz, drama, guitar, piano, etc. All classes will be on Wednesday for a 45 minute block between 4:00 p.m. to 7: 45 p.m. All volunteers must first complete an application form, background check, and in-person interview with the Salvation Army staff prior to serving. Someone from the Salvation Army will be in contact with you for next steps. Once you have been approved as a volunteer, the Salvation Army staff will work with the volunteer to schedule the class (same time each Wednesday) based on the volunteers' availability. Because there is a process to getting involved, it may take a few weeks for you to begin volunteering.
