Volunteer Orientation for Homeless Recovery Running Program

About this Opportunity

Back on My Feet seeks to revolutionize the way society approaches homelessness. Their unique model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead.

For all in need, they aim to provide: practical training and employment resources for achieving independence; an environment that promotes accountability; and a community that offers compassion and hope. For all with the capacity to serve – volunteers, donors, community and corporate partners – they seek to engage you in the profound experience of empowering individuals to achieve what once seemed impossible through the seemingly simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.

The enthusiasm of our early-rising volunteer runners, walkers, or joggers is contagious as they encourage discipline and healthy habits in people who are going through life transition and transformation.

Meetup times are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30-6:30AM or 5:45-6:45AM. You can commit to running, jogging, or walking with the team once a week, every other week or every other day. The time is non-negotiable, but the dates & frequency are up to you.

There are 6 locations- Alphabet City, Bowery, Brooklyn, East Harlem, Times Square, Uptown. (East Harlem, Alphabet City, and Brooklyn volunteers needed the most!)

If you are interested in moving forward, the next step is to attend an orientation. Please RSVP to get started!

*Note: attendees must arrive on time to participate in orientation. Late attendees will not be permitted as to not disturb the other participants.
