Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nutritious food and human company to homebound elderly New Yorkers in need, helping them to live with dignity in their own familiar homes and communities.
Volunteers go to local senior center, receive orientation and route, pick up meals, and walk in groups of 2-3 to deliver meals to elderly recipients in the neighborhood. Volunteers return to center with thermal bags and route information.
- Volunteers 14-17 years old require adult supervision at a ratio of 1 adult per 3 youth volunteers.
- Volunteers under 14 require adult supervision at a ratio of 1 adult per child.
