God, you are the maker of heaven and earth. You created each and every one of us. There is nothing that you do not see. There is not a thought or feeling that I have that I can hide from you. You know all of my fears and all of my hopes.
Dear Friends - Hope for New York has been actively monitoring the development of COVID-19 in NYC and its impact on our 60+ affiliates. To respond to the needs of our affiliates, our HFNY staff has transitioned to ‘disaster relief’ mode.
Our goal is to take steps to best support the HFNY network—those who are poor and marginalized, HFNY affiliates and staff, HFNY volunteers—to take the necessary precautions and stay in communication with the HFNY network as the health situation unfolds.
HFNY focuses on mercy, justice, generosity, poverty and brokenness. I find those five words challenging. In the context of each of our lives they mean so many different things, but one thing does connect them all—and it’s that they impact each of us every day.
While I could tell you all about the logistics of Don't Walk By or the amazing stories of changed lives to tug on the heartstrings, I’m going to share instead why you should sign up to serve again or even for the first time.
