The Bridge NY offers supportive housing and behavioral health services to vulnerable New Yorkers living with behavioral health and substance use concerns. The Bridge provides people with the tools they need to pursue their dreams and live meaningful lives.
On Saturday, June 28, HFNY volunteers will be hosting an "indoor picnic" -- serving sandwiches/food, beverages, and dessert to approximately 40 residents (35 men; 5 women) at the Old Broadway House, a homeless residential community, in Harlem.
Volunteers will serve by helping with prep, serving, and cleanup! Specifically, volunteers will:
- Help set up our food/beverage stations, including organizing a "buffet" style table setup where residents will come through. Supporting staff should they have recommendations
- Prepping food and serving residents lunch; making "to-go" brown bag lunches with leftovers
- Break down and clean up
- Meet, encourage, converse with Old Broadway House residents, should they be open to interaction
Please note that photography at the event is not allowed. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
