What You’ll Do (Role Highlights)
- Welcome & Check-In: Greet families, label bags/bottles, match wristbands, review allergies.
- Age-Appropriate Care: Provide safe play, snacks (if provided), diapering, and nap support.
- Engaging Activities: Simple crafts, story time, bubbles, music & movement, tummy-time mats.
- Safety & Dignity: Follow bathroom/diapering protocols, positive behavior guidance, and dismissal procedures to the right caregiver.
- Team Support: Reset rooms and sanitize toys after the program ends.
Shifts & Roles Full Shift: 1:00–3:00 PM
- Set-Up Crew (optional): 12:30 AM–1:00 PM
- Clean-Up Crew : 3:00–3:30 PM
- Room Leads: Infant | Toddler | Preschool | Big Kids (assign on arrival)
- Floaters: Step in where needed; help with check-ins and breaks. Ideal coverage: 2 adults per room (infant room may require 3:1 child-to-adult ratio).
Requirements Age: 16+ (under 18 serve alongside an adult) Screening: Background check & brief orientation required for direct childcare Training: 20–30 minute on-site review (check-in, ratios, diapering/bathroom policy, dismissal)
Dress: Comfortable, closed-toe shoes; modest/family-friendly attire
Abilities: Lift/carry up to 25 lbs (infant room), sit on floor/chairs, follow safety prompts Safety Standards (Quick Glance)
Ratios: Infant 3:1, Toddler 4:1, Preschool 6:1, Big Kids 8:1 (minimum—strive for better)
Two-Adult Rule: Never one-on-one out of sight; stay in visible/shared spaces
Allergies: Post clearly; use only approved snacks; enforce hand-washing
Bathroom/Diapering: Follow posted protocol; log changes/assists; never alone behind closed doors
Illness: Follow wellness policy (no fever in last 24 hrs, etc.)
