The Open Door empowers immigrants to reach their full God-given potential to successfully integrate, participate and contribute to the well being of our society.

Make a difference in the lives of adult immigrants by teaching in-person English (ESL) classes to immigrant neighbors once a week in East Harlem on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to serve together with a friend or two!

Qualifications & Process

• Volunteers must be 18 and over and complete an application form, interview, and training.
• As a faith-based organization, The Open Door NJNY looks for individuals whose values are aligned with our mission to share God's love with the immigrant community.
