At a recent Redeemer Downtown service, Tony Wong shared a Prayers of the People. Tony is a Downtown church member and also Director of Program Partnerships at Hope for New York.

Father God, thank you for your presence here with us this morning. Thank you for giving us the chance to worship you together in person and be reminded of your faithfulness towards us.

We hope you will reflect on and recite this prayer written by Tory, our Manager of Mobilization. This prayer was shared during Palm Sunday services by the Redeemer Presbyterian Church network this year.

Lord Jesus, thank you for being a God of justice and mercy, for being a God that demonstrates justice and mercy toward us. We praise you that “righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before Your face" and that You ”love justice."

God, you are the maker of heaven and earth. You created each and every one of us. There is nothing that you do not see. There is not a thought or feeling that I have that I can hide from you. You know all of my fears and all of my hopes.

For an annual Hope for New York Sunday event, a special prayer was shared at Redeemer Lincoln Square: "Father, remind our hearts that there are no ordinary people, that there are no mere mortals, but that every person is an image bearer of the most high, deserving of honor."
