Deliver Meals to Homebound Elderly in UWS

About this Opportunity
Citymeals-on-Wheels has provided a continuous lifeline of nutritious food and human company to homebound elderly New Yorkers in need, helping them to live with dignity in their own familiar homes and communities. By partnering with 33 neighborhood-based meals programs, Citymeals provides the centers with the resources to offer weekend, holiday and emergency meals to the elderly they normally serve during the week.

Volunteers pick up meals at local UWS center, receive route for delivery from center, and walk in groups of 2-3 to deliver meals to elderly recipients in the neighborhood. Volunteers must be able to form a group of at least 10 or have a pre-existing group in order to serve.

*All ages are welcome to volunteer! Youth under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

*Citymeals-on-Wheels does not accept court mandated community service, and volunteers with criminal charges pending or convictions are not eligible to volunteer for the opportunities listed below.
