Urban Hope NYC

Serve as Afterschool Adult Leader

About this Opportunity
Urban Hope Inc. was formed to rescue and uplift children, teens and youth in the West Brighton community (North Shore of Staten Island) from a cycle of generational physical and emotional abuse, neglect, poverty, and lack of parental oversight and care resulting in risky social behaviors and poor academic performance. Urban Hope meets the needs of these youth through after-school programming, arts/crafts/music programs, 6-week summer camp, Street Leadership Ministry (teen leadership development through paid internship and training programs), a Work Force Development Centre (using basketball league and vision tours as a connect point) to develop youth academically, socially, spiritually, and in leadership.

An adult leader is needed to be on site 2 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, 3-6pm, for opening, supervision and closing. Application and interview required to serve in this role. Because there is a process involved, it may take a few weeks for you to begin volunteering. Request information below to get started.
