Prison Fellowship
Founded in 1976 by Chuck Colson, Prison Fellowship partners with local churches across the country to minister to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. The focus of their ministry includes Biblical teaching, visiting prisoners, conducting in-prison seminars, and serving the children of prisoners through the Angel Tree program. Prison Fellowship seeks to connect with families by building meaningful relationships through Christmas, camping, and mentoring programs all designed to present Christ's love.

Flexible Volunteer Opportunities:
Prison Fellowship holds 12-hour training sessions for anyone interested in volunteering to serve with an in-prison team. The trainings are comprehensive and cover all the rules and regulations for volunteering within the corrections system as well as provide practical strategies for developing a safe, effective personal ministry to prisoners. Volunteer in the local NY PFM office or get involved in local ministry. Some examples of local ministry opportunities are:
- Conduct an in-prison Bible study, discipleship training, or seminar
- Complete instructor training and become a trainer or trainers
- Serve as a team leader on a local Ministry Delivery Team and use your leadership gifts to coordinate ministry at the local level
- Mentor a troubled youth or ex-prisoner
