Escape New York Bike Ride Day
Fundraising deadline for jersey
I want to ride, but I don't have a bike! What do I do? No problem! You can rent one through a local bike shop. We recommend a day-long rental.
What are the distances of the ride? You can sign up for 25, 50, 65, or 100-mile routes.
Do I have to sign up with both HFNY and Escape New York? Yes. You need to register separately with Escape New York to ride, and then with Hope for New York to fundraise and join Team HFNY.
So Hope for New York isn’t running or organizing the actual ride? That’s right. #TeamHFNY simply rides as part of New York Cycling Club’s Escape New York Ride.
What’s the Bike Ride Pasta Dinner? It’s a time when we get together, celebrate, and eat pasta the night before our Bike Ride - on Friday, Sept. 15. It will be at HFNY offices at 1166 Avenue of the Americas.
I can't ride on Sept. 16 but I still want to join Team HFNY to support HFNY. What can I do? You can still join Team HFNY as a member and fundraise for HFNY. We've had riders in the past ride other local rides, or just train with Team HFNY, but still fundraise for HFNY. If you're looking to do that, e-mail us at email@example.com. We'd love to have you join.
FundraisingWhat is the fundraising goal?
Team HFNY has a goal of raising $90,000 for the poor and marginalized. This year, all gifts up to $75,000 will be matched 1:1 by an anonymous donor!
How much am I supposed to raise? We recommend that all riders have a goal of at least $500. Any Team HFNY rider who raises $1,000 or more receives a Team HFNY jersey.
Where can I get fundraising tips? Once you register to create your fundraising page on Classy, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to our fundraising guide, which gives you a step by step guide to fundraising for the poor of our city.
What’s the deadline to fundraise? We ask that all donations are received by October 1.Can a corporate matching gift count toward my fundraising goal? Yes. Once we receive a matching gift notification from your donor, we’ll notify you of the amount so you can input that as your offline donation. Please encourage any donors to report their donations through their companies' matching gift programs.
How should checks be handled? Your donors can make checks payable to Hope For New York (with rider's name in the memo section), and mail to HFNY Charity Bike Ride, 1166 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 1610, New York, NY 10036.
