Habitat for Humanity

Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity is an international faith-based organization challenging people of compassion to provide financial and/or building support for constructing simple, decent homes for people who need them. The construction projects are joint ventures between volunteers and future homeowners. Houses are sold at no profit and buyers are given a no-interest mortgage that is to be repaid over 15-30 years.
Hope for New York works with the New York City Habitat chapter participating in local building projects throughout the year. Additionally, Hope for New York sends a team of volunteers on an annual trip to Baltimore, Maryland where we partner with Habitat for Humanity Sandtown and New Song Commuinty Church to partner in their efforts of community development and urban renewal.
