Center for All Abilities

Mentor Kids with Special Needs from Chinatown Community (Volunteer Training)

Saturday 9/23/2017 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Center for All Abilities seeks to serve individuals with special needs and their families through creative, educational and spiritual enrichment in a faith-guided environment. Their vision is for people with special needs and their families to realize and live out their full potential in God through supportive services.

Walk With U is (WWU) for children ages 6-11 years old & Mighty Adventurist for Christ (MAX) is for youth ages 12-16 years old. Both are one-on-one mentoring programs for kids with special needs, including speech impairments, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional disorders. Each child is paired with a Christian mentor, who serves as a role model and supports his or her child in creative projects, team-building activities, and outings.

Mentors meet with kids at group sessions the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m., and are asked to commit to 1 year of serving.

*Center for All Abilities is a Christian organization, and asks that all volunteers align with their faith statement to serve.

Because there is an application and reference form, you need to request information below to receive more details and next steps before you attend the training.
